Leoba Schmitt Obituary
Waite Park
June 1, 1918 - May 17, 2017
Funeral Services will be at 12PM on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at the Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, St. Cloud for Leoba "Lee" Schmitt, age 98, of Waite Park who passed away peacefully at Sterling Park Nursing Home. Rev. Gerald Dalseth will officiate and burial will be in St. Joseph's Parish Cemetery, Waite Park. Friends and relatives may call from 10AM-12PM on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Lee was born on June 1, 1918 to August and Catherine (Adrian) Bischoff in Melrose. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Waite Park. Lee enjoyed cooking and baking and she kept her recipes in her head. She loved playing cards with her family and watching and feeding the birds. Lee walked strongly in her faith and prayed every day for her children and grandchildren. Her family knows she will continue this in Heaven.
Lee is survived by her children, Tony (Nancy) Schmitt of St. Cloud and Mike (Betty) Schmitt of St. Cloud; grandchildren, Chad Schmitt, Mark Schmitt, Scott (Stacey) Schmitt, Kate (Nate) Somers, John (Maria Jose) Schmitt and Amy (Chris) Hoopes; sister, Irene Klein of St. Cloud and 7 great-grandchildren.
Lee was preceded in death by her husband, Donald and infant son, Robert. Lee has been waiting to put her arms around her infant son, Robert who passed away in her arms 70 years ago; now that wait is over.
