Livia Poletto, beloved wife of Vitaliano Poletto of Calgary, passed away on Monday, October 20, 2014 at the age of 74 years. Livia and Vitaliano were married October 13, 1963 in Italy and immigrated to Canada in 1966. Livia loved to cook for her family and friends and will be remembered for the meals she prepared. She always put everyone else's needs before her own and cherished her grandchildren. Livia is survived by her loving husband Vitaliano, two sons and daughters- in-law, Carlo (Grazia) and Joe (Gemma); five grandchildren, Christina, Vito, Saveria, Domenic, and Isabella; a sister-in-law Maria (Silvio) Minardi, as well as six sisters and three brothers, and other relatives and friends throughout Calgary, Italy and Germany. She was predeceased by her granddaughter Livia Poletto, her parents, a sister and her husband's parents. Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Chapel of the Bells, 2720 Centre Street North) this evening, October 23, 2014 at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Mary, Mother of the Redeemer Parish (1714 – 14th Avenue NE) on Friday, October 24, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen's Park Mausoleum. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Agapé Hospice, 1302 - 8 Avenue N.W., Calgary, AB T2N 1B8 Telephone: (403) 282-6588. In living memory of Livia Poletto, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park.
