Patricia Baird Obituary

Patricia L. Baird, 73

St. Cloud

June 30, 1944 - Nov. 12, 2017

Patricia L. Baird passed away surrounded by her family on Sunday, November 12, 2017 at Quiet Oaks Hospice House due to complications of Multiple Sclerosis. Services will be held at St. Michael's Catholic Church, St. Cloud, MN at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, November 16. Rev. David Grundman will officiate. Interment will be at St. Boniface's Cemetery in Cold Spring, MN following the funeral luncheon. Family and friends may call from 8:30 a.m. until time of services Thursday at the church. Arrangements entrusted to Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, St. Cloud.

Patricia was born June 30, 1944 to Leander and Dolores (Weinmann) Schiemann in Spring Hill, MN. She was raised in Central Minnesota and graduated from Grey Eagle H.S. in 1962. She began her career as a registered nurse in 1965 after graduating from St. Cloud School of Nursing. She retired in 2005, ending her career as an occupational health nurse at 3M.

Patricia married Jeffrey J. Baird on Jun 17, 1967 in Grey Eagle, MN. They had recently celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary. Together they raised six children: Brant (Angela), Tisha, Kyle (Sarah), Jeremy, Brigette, and Lindsey. She is the proud grandmother of Trent, Ariel, Layla, and Ella. Patricia was often more than a Grandma to her grandson Trent having a special role in raising him. She was also a devoted daughter who loved her parents dearly.

Patricia was a woman of faith. She was an active member of St. Michael's Church serving as a religious education teacher, bible school leader, and funeral luncheon cook. She also loved having coffee with friends, travel, reading a good book, and watching Downton Abbey.

She will dearly missed by her husband, children, and grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters: Diana Cook, Kathy Kuechle, and Karen Walz, and her brothers: Ron Schiemann and John Schiemann. She is preceded in death by her parents and in-laws John and Elma Baird.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the MS Society of MN or Quiet Oaks Hospice House.

Patricia was part of our group we fondly called the "Magnificent Seven". Seven women, nurses, ranging in age from 50's to mid 70's. ( 30's to mid 50's in the beginning). At least once a year we would get together for a girls weekend at Linda Munsinger's lake home in Park Rapids. A weekend of fun and laughter. Patricia was a quiet soul but with her dry sense of humor she could get us laughing until we were exhausted. Sometimes you could find us sitting around the breakfast table in our pajamas at 3 in the afternoon, just talking, laughing and enjoying the company. Patricia (she didn't like to be called Pat), you will be dearly missed. Till we meet again, please save us some room at the table.

Patricia was a member of our little group of friends, who called ourselves the "Magnificent Seven". Seven women, nurses, ranging in age from 50's in to the mid 70's. ( We met when those ages were 30's to mid 50's)We all just clicked and became good friends. We'd get together a couple of times a year, usually at Linda Munsinger's lake home in Park Rapids. A weekend of good food, friendship and laughter. Pat seemed to be a quiet soul, but she had a dry sense of humor that could get us all laughing until we were exhausted. Many times we would sit around the breakfast table in our pajamas talking and laughing until 3 in the afternoon. Good times, good friends and Pat was a big part of that. She will be missed dearly and will always hold a place in our hearts. Till we meet again Patricia (she didn't like to be called Pat). Your journey is over. Save a place at the table for the rest of us.

I am so sad to hear about Pat. One of the kindest people I have ever known . Best memory is of her and Jeff coming to "The Angus" and sitting by the bar schmoozing with me while I worked. Always lots of laughter. Take care of each other Bairds! You are in our thoughts and prayers.
With love, Brandon and Annette Nyberg
