In South Africa, he collaborated with the Anglican Church to found the Dependable Strengths Foundation. This Foundation is supporting newly trained practitioners as they use Bernard's methods to help unemployed South Africans find jobs using their strengths. For more than 55 years, Bernard Haldane has dedicated his life to helping others identify and value their unique strengths, and find satisfaction in their life's work. A favorite saying was "work should add life to living". He will be missed for his no-nonsense outlook, tempered by humor, kindness and generosity. His was a keen intellect, with the power to perceive, interpret, know and understand, with a goal to helping others uncover the best that was in themselves. He believed in the excellence of every individual, and tens of thousands have benefited from his writings, trainings, courses and workshops. Those close to Bernard will not forget his gifts as a storyteller, teacher and friend. He died peacefully in his home surrounded by his family. Bernard is survived by his wife Jean.
