Bryan Bernasconi Obituary

Bryan BERNASCONI Bryan was born September 27th, 1980 and had a full 26 years of life before leaving us much too soon on May 6th, 2007 from natural causes. He graduated from Kentwood High School in 1999 and earned his bachelor's degree in finance from Portland State University in 2004. Bryan was employed by Freightliner LLC, in Portland Oregon, as an account manager representing the Detroit Diesel engine division. Everyone who met Bryan loved him. His big smile and his easy going personality were just a part of his knack for making everyone he knew feel special. Bryan loved life as much as he loved his family and friends. Having him around for 26 years wasn't nearly enough. We also know in his 26 years "Bry" exuded more charisma, love, joy, humor, vitality and tenderness than most can hope for in a lifetime. Many things describe Bryan: true blue, genuine, heartfelt, comedian, kind, handsome, unpredictable, intelligent, fire-cracker, warm, spirit-lifter, best friend, heartfelt. The list could go on forever. He would want us to celebrate his life, remember the happy times and continue laughing and smiling. Bryan will be forever loved and never forgotten. He is survived by countless friends and family, including parents, Alex and Jamie Bernasconi; best friends and sisters, Erica and Tracy Bernasconi; grandmother, Teresa "Noni" Bernasconi; aunts, Marina Serena and Jan Bernasconi; uncles, Tary Serena, Roger Bernasconi and Michael VanBuskirk; treasured cousins, Chris, Michelle, Jenae, Jason and Shaun Serena, Daniella, Lisa and Joey Bernasconi; and beautiful second cousins, Riley Clark and Aidan Strickler. Visitation will be Thursday from 1:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Marlatt's Funeral Home in Kent, WA. Bryan's Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, May 11th, at 10:00 a.m. at the Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Kent, Washington at 310 3rd Ave South, 98032. Burial at Hillcrest Cemetery in Kent, WA. In lieu of flowers and to honor Bryan's love of children, the Bernasconi Family asks that gifts in his memory be made to Make-A-Wish Foundation of Oregon, 2000 SW 1st Ave, Suite 100; Portland, Oregon, 97201. 503-292-2280.

Hi Bryan,

It has been a year since your passing, and your light still shines brightly. We see it and feel it. I do every day. We know you are with us as you can be, and that is a comfort that warms the cold and empty space we feel about your loss. The puzzle we feel at your leaving us is no mystery to you, and yet the lesson for us is mostly elusive. What persists is our Love and Yours, in that way that connects us and always will--you are Loved and Cherished, now and forever. And we feel your Love for us--but sometimes that connection leaves us and makes us feel sad and lonely. Bryan, we love you and miss you.....and revel in the comfort of the wonderful 26 years you shared with us...

Love,
Uncle Mike

My thoughts and prayers are with your family. I had a few classes with Brian in high school. He was such a fun person to be around, always making everyone around him feel special. Life is worth living because of the people we get to know.

Jamie, Alex, Erica, and Tracy,

There aren't words to say how sorry I was to hear about Bryan. I will always remember him as a preschooler, full of confidence and energy. I always said that I could leave the room, and Bryan could take care of everything in my absence. The last time I saw him, he was a young man, but he still had that confidence and energy, with a huge dose of charm added to the mix. He was a Bernasconi through and through!

Your family has had a special place in our lives. Of all the families she babysat, Jenna enjoyed the three Bernasconi's the most. She still has a picture of all of you in her bedroom here at home.

I know that all of you face difficult times ahead as you come to terms with the loss of someone with so much potential and love at such a young age. Please know that you are much loved and respected, and very much in our thoughts and prayers. I'm really at a loss as to what to say, but if you ever need to talk, I'm a good listener.

I know you feel blessed to have had Bryan in your life, even for too short a time - but please remember - he was equally blessed to have you in his.

Alex, Jamie, Erica, Tracy, and Bryan:

In the short time I've worked with you and have gotten to know your family, the main thing I immediately noticed was what truly amazing people each of you are - what you see is what you get and that's AWESOME!

You each have a love and zest for life and you freely pass that along to all those who's lives/paths you cross; openingly sharing your sense humor and your laughter. Your family is a blessing to those who have had the good fortune of crossing paths with you. Thank you for sharing yourselves, your lives.

I have no doubt Bryan was called to be an Angel and what a darn fine Angel he'll make...of that I am most certainly sure of! Bryan's life is truly an inspiration and celebration of all that's good, all that's right...

May each of us strive towards embracing life and those around us as each of you have done so graciously throughout your lives.

You are all truly GOOD People!

With love and warmest regards,

James & Angie Sharpe

Bryan,

I feel blessed to have known you, to have worked with you but most of all to have laughed with you. I am grateful for the few moments we got to share in the parking lot in Redford only a week before your passing.

To Bryan's family and frieds, My heart aches for you and you have all been in the prayers of my family.

May Bryan's passing be an example to us that life is not measured in moments in time but in timeless moments.

May the lord bless you my friend, may we all share a laugh with you in heaven one day and may god bless you with his gifts of faith, hope and love.

If there's anything at all I can do to make the difficult days ahead any easier for you, you need only call. In the meantime, please know that you're in my thoughts and prayers always. Jamie and Alex,
Our hearts go out to you, Tracy and Erica for the loss of Bryan. You are such great parents and we know how much you love your children and how important family is to you.

Just last week in Charlotte, I saw Alex's face light up and the pride in his eyes as he talked about Bryan following in the old man's footsteps at Freightliner.

Bryan brought joy into the lives of everyone he met. His time among us was short but his impact was unforgettable.

God saw you getting tired
And a cure was not to be,
So he put his arms around you
And whispered
“Come To Me”
With tearful eyes we watched you,
And saw you pass away,
And although we loved you dearly,
We could not make you stay,
A golden heart stopped beating,
Hard working hands at rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us,
He only takes the best.

Dear Alex, Jamie and family,
We were so sorry to hear about the loss of your son. Our Prayers and thoughts are with you all.

Hi B...it's D! I know you wouldn't want any of us to get all choked so I'm just going to make this quick. Not only were you my little (younger) cousin, but you were a mentor to me. You always knew what to say to bring everyone's spirits up. Bryan, you are our families Guardian Angel. Tell grandpa Toni hello and Happy 110th Birthday (since today would have been his birthday). Please give him a big hug and kiss for me! I know you are under his wing... WE ALL LOVE YOU VERY MUCH B! You will always be remembered as the comedian in the family... Not only were you a cousin to little Riley, but you were a father figure. You were the one who paid the most attention to him and spoiled the crap out of him! Riley really misses you... Again, thank you for everything you have done for the family and all of your friends. We miss you Bry, Bry but I'm not worried because I know we all will see you very, very soon. Love always, Dee xoxo
