Curtis Barnes Obituary
Curtis R. Barnes, Jr., 73, a renowned Seattle-based painter, sculptor, muralist and social activist, passed away in January 2017. He is survived by his wife Royal Alley-Barnes, son Maikoiyo, daughters Asuba and Shelly; grandchildren Akirah, Musashi, Zy Octavia and Anika Tseday; daughters-in-law Ashley, Rene and Danielle; mother Arzelia Macon Barnes; brothers Barry, Anthony and Dexter; sister Katrina; and a host of relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father Reverend Curtis R. Barnes, Sr., brother Ralph and sister Wilma Jean.
A memorial in Curtis' honor will be held February 25, 6pm at the Frye Art Museum, Seattle.
