Douglas Tulip Obituary

Douglas LeRoy Tulip

Douglas LeRoy Tulip was born in Seattle March 30, 1942 and left this earth for a better place July 20, 2017. He graduated from Franklin High School in 1960. After graduation he was hired by The Boeing Company where he worked through the highs and lows of the company for a number of years. In the early 1970s he went to work at Pacific Car and Foundry Company as a technical writer for the Military Division. He later became a test driver of the military vehicles built at the plant and trained Army personnel on their operation and usage.

After 15 years, Doug returned to Boeing, starting in the Photo Processing Group. He became Lead of the Markers Group, which did artwork and custom designs for Boeing customers worldwide. Doug worked on many special projects for airline companies and received numerous awards for his excellence. He retired in 2008 after 25 years.

Doug was active in the 21 Club of Renton as one of the cooking team captains. He organized their annual golf tournaments and served as the official photographer of the events.

Doug served on the committee for his Franklin High School 50th class reunion, where he was the official photographer.

He is survived by his brother, daughter, son, six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and his special lady.

There will be a celebration and remembrance of Doug's life on September 16th, 2pm at Skyway VFW Hall, Seattle, WA.

Hey Doug,
We had great times together up on Rainier Beach Hill in the 50s and 60s and I miss you. Remember our hot rod club the Archangels and the dance we put on to raise money and no-one came?
My best prayers and wishes to your family.
