Erik Monsen Obituary
May 15, 1987 ~ March 17, 2018
It is with broken hearts that we write of the death of Erik William Monsen, age 30. He did not want to leave us. He loved his family and friends, and we him. Our lives will never be the same.
Family was the most important to Erik. He made each of us feel valued, validated, and loved. He brought us joy and made us proud. Erik was a life long learner; full of curiosity of life and people. He loved music, playing board games and Magic the Gathering with friends, and traveling. Erik was an avid reader, a fitness buff and had resumed his studies at Westerm Washington University in Bellingham.
Erik is survived by his mother, Christina Armstrong; father, Ivar Monsen; step-father David Armstrong; step-brothers Sean Armstrong (Meredith) and Matthew Armstrong; uncles William Hardan (Judy) and Patrick Thomas (Susan); and Grandmother Peggy Hardan.
He is preceded in death by his aunt, Susan Thomas, and grandfather, Bert Hardan.
A funeral mass will be held on
April 6th, 2018, 11:00am, at
St. Teresa of Calcutta, 17856 Woodinville-Duvall Road, Woodinville, Wa. 98077; followed by a reception at the church and graveside burial at Holyrood Cemetery, 205 N.E. 205th, Shoreline, Wa, 98155.
All are welcome to join.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Matthew House in Monroe, Wa., a non-profit that Erik and our family have supported through the years. Matthewhousemonroe.org.

Our hearts are so very sad to learn of Erik's passing. He was a part of our family too. We enjoyed his smiles and his love for our granddaughter. They were so good together. May your hearts find peace and comfort in the memory of his goodness and love.
