Heinz SCHWARZ Holocaust Survivor Dies January 24th 2005 Mr. Heinz Schwarz fled Nazi Germany in 1939 together with his parents, finding refuge in Shanghai where his family lived among 20,000 Jewish refugees from Germany and German occupied countries under the most primitive, deplorable conditions. During Japanese occupation, living conditions made it impossible to eke out more than a miserable living. After nine years, the Schwarz family was finally able to come to the United States, settling in Seattle where Heinz completed his education and passed his CPA exams. He owned the Heinz Schwarz Accounting Firm, where he worked as sole proprietor until his sudden death. Heinz was an active member of Congregation Herzl-Ner Tamid, the Jewish Club of Washington, the Seattle Seniors group of the Jewish Community Center and several professional organizations. He was an avid table tennis player, and enjoyed hiking, scrabble and spending time with his friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. His always cheerful demeanor and friendly concern for everyone will be sorely missed by his many friends and clients. Funeral Services were held at Herzl Memorial Park on Wednesday, January 26th.
