Hong Duy Le

Hong Duy Le, 76, of Redmond, Washington, passed away on February 6, 2013 peacefully in his sleep.

The funeral service will be held at 9:00 AM on February 13, 2013 at Greenwood Funeral Home in Renton, Washington. Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM on February 13, 2013 at the same location. Cremation will follow at the Forest Lawn Funeral Home and Cemetery in West Seattle. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Greenwood Funeral Home.

Hong was born in Vinh Long, Vietnam on November 27, 1936. He graduated from high school in France where he lived for seven years.

Hong was married to Ngan Hue Thi Huynh on October 12, 1961; they were married for 51 years.

Hong worked as an interpreter for the United States Arm Forces during the Vietnam War. In April of 1975, Hong along with his family moved to the United States. He worked in food production/service, maintenance and social work after arriving in the United States. Hong and his family lived in California and Hawaii before settling permanently in Washington. Hong enjoyed working in the garden, reading Buddhist sutras and traveling.

Hong is survived by his three children, Michael, Samantha, Andrew and his wife Hue Huynh; his 5 grandchildren Tri, Thuc, Julia, Erin and William; his 3 sisters, My Linh, My Hoa and My Dung; his nieces and nephews; and the rest of his extended family and friends.

Hong is preceded in death by his parents, Dau Duy Le and Thoi Thi Lanh; as well as his sister, My Le Le.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to the Seattle Children's Hospital Foundations, M/S S-200, PO Box 5371, Seattle WA 98145-5005. The family of Hong Le wishes to thank the staff at Mission Health Care in Bellevue.

I am so sorry for your loss. Both of the kids have special memories of spending time with Grandpa, but Erin especially remembers how he taught her the Buddhist teachings of paying homage to her ancestors, which was important to her.
