Jesse Charles "Chuck" Klinker

Jesse Klinker Obituary

Jesse Charles "Chuck" KLINKER 8/17/1918 ~ 3/21/2009 Chuck Klinker was well known for the twinkle in his eyes and wonderful sense of humor. He was born and raised in Seattle attending Queen Anne Highschool and the UW. He served in WWII in SE Asia. His parents were Dorothy and Jesse Klinker, his father the owner and founder of Klinker Sand & Gravel. Chuck enjoyed the construction industry managing sales at Seattle ReadyMix & Miles S&G. Chuck was predeceased by his first wife, Bette, (8/86) then Gretchen (3/07) & his sister Bettie Nell (1/09). He is survived by his children, Patty, Jeff, Kit & wife Wendy, eight grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, his sister MaryLou still feisty at 92, and many nieces and nephews. One of our dad's favorite places was Indianola where he enjoyed gardening and many long time friends from Queen Anne. He and Gretchen also loved Palm Desert. They were avid sports enthusiasts, big Husky fans and dad golfed up until two years ago. Three years ago Chuck experienced renal failure and then on dialysis. Everyone at the center commented on his humor and wonderful zest for life. Two weeks before he died we knew he was declining as he was no longer asking "where's the beef?". Charming to the end, on one of his last days, a nurse asked how he was and he replied that he'd be a little better if she could step a little closer. Our family thanks all his MDs & wonderful people associated with the NW Kidney Center for their support and kindness. Please send any donations to the NW Kidney Center, 1474 112th Ave. NE #100, Bellevue, WA 98004. There will be a family celebration of his life this summer. Good job Dad!!!!

Dear family and friends,
My family and I would love to extend our sympathy to you all for Chuck' death. For the past five beautiful years that I have provided care for "Chuckie", I had very wonderful memories of Chuck. Of all the people that I've taken care of in the past and present, Chuckie is on top of the list I've never had a pateint so nice like him. He was very, very loving, caring, kind and best of all his great sense of humor. Chuck was not only a client to me but also a grandfather. Chuck, we love you and you will be terribly missed. Tears of sorrow.
