I know I can't fully realize your loss. You have my deepest sympathy and condolences. Joan was, as you were,
always a good friend to me and I have thought about both of you many times in the last few years.

I sorely miss the "old times" and even more so now with Joan's passing.

Rich and Greg-

I heard of your loss from a friend that just spent a wonderful 3 days at Roche Harbor, and was aware I knew your family. I am so sorry for your loss. I remember when the Cinnabon Presidents trip was on Maui (back in 1993?) when you & Joan graciously opened your home there to us for an evening - a wonderful gesture that I am sure exemplified a great life of love and giving.

My best wishes to you both.

Rich and family, I had so much respect and admiration for Joan. She was so thoughtful, caring, and generous to me , all these years that I have known her. She was such an awesome homemaker, great in her garden, gifted at making her home beautiful, taking time to teach her granddaughers how to bake homemade pies.. she had her priorities right.... I know that she was a competitive golfer and loved her time with her golfing buddies. I will miss her so much, such a beautiful, gracious woman.. the day that Rich and Joan flew back to the mainland this last time, my husband, who is also with the Lord now, said to me.. I really want to say good-bye to Joan Komen.."I love Joan and I have never even met her".. . she had been so loving to him , writing cards and e-mails of encouragement.. while he was struggling with leukemia. We called Joan.. to ask if we could drop by, but they had already left. I was blessed to have known her. Love, shelly

To Rich and Family,
Though I just got to know Joan when she came in to the medical center these last few weeks, I am saddened that she lost her courageous battle with cancer. At the clinic, she was always so pleasant and gracious even when I knew she didn't feel very well. What an inspiration she was ! Bless you as you endure this sad time. May your memories keep you strong.
