I'm so sorry for your loss, Susan and Nate. John was such an intelligent, thoughtful and gentle man. Although our paths drifted apart, I will always cherish the times we spent together in Port Ludlow and Bonners Ferry. My love and best wishes to you both.

John was my editor at the Seattle PI. He was always a warm and encouraging supervisor. My deepest sympathies to Susan and his family.

Having known John since he lived in Greenbank and we both attended CHS in the 1950's I followed his "doings" over the years. I had a chuckle at one of his "Sonic" columns when he quoted musings from 'a retired Real Estate Agent and his wife; from Whidbey Island' on the Sonic championship run.. Now John is with Jack and Betty and they are most likely also remembering the good times.
The year's do fly away and it is difficult to think that a high school class mate had to endure an extended discomfort. Yet we all will be seeing John as we take our turn on that last trip out of town.
We thank John for the time we did get to spend together. Best wishes to Carolee and Ms. John.
