Leon was a business friend, but gradually became a Dad figure to me over the years with solid life advice, as I worked with him on various construction projects in West Seattle. I supplied many cabinets for his projects over the years, and still remember listening to the Mariners beating the Angel's as we stood in the window of a condo project looking out over the water towards Seattle in the 1995 playoffs. I met him when he worked at GKS, and we worked well together so I introduced him to Jim Bender at Pryde Construction and told Jim they needed to hire him! Later Leon came and bailed me out of a bad remodel situation in the U district back in the mid 90s. He was one of the really great guys that you could always count on! I sadly noticed this obituary after googling to see if I could look him up to come visit on Whidbey. Last time we connected was golfing with him at Holmes Harbor when my son had a football game at South Whidbey over a decade ago. So sad to hear of his passing! Such a fun, great person with lots of wisdom far beyond construction!
