I first met Mark in San Diego in the early 90's. The funny thing is, I don't remember the exact connections I had that led to me meeting him. I seem to remember it was a friend of a friend sort of thing. I believe I first got to know him at a party and it was myself and my best friend Chad. We found out quickly that we had a mutual interest in a lot of the same kinds of music. Chad and I started hanging around with Mark and Kevin and some other fellow who was playing music with Mark at the time. I was always inspired by Mark's songwriting talent. In fact, Mark inspired me to learn how to play guitar so I could give my song lyrics tunes. Essentially, he made me want to be a songwriter. After he moved back to Seattle, Chad and I followed in early '94. It was wonderful to have a friend already there that we could hang out with, and Mark was always a fun, interesting person to spend time with. I also really enjoyed the music he made. At one point, I think he might have been in a band with a guy I also played with, Trent. Anyways, Life went on and I lost track of him some time in the mid-late 90's. But I always wondered what happened to him. Just today, I happened to do a Google search and I'm sorry to read that he passed away. My condolences to his family members, including his brother Carl, who I also knew briefly. R.I.P. old friend.

It will not last the night;
But ah, my foes, and oh, my friends- It gives a lovely light."
