Mark Peterson Obituary

Mark L. Peterson

Mark L. Peterson, 59, of Maple Valley, WA passed away recently following a short illness. He was Vice President and a principal owner of Saxton Bradley, Inc. of Kent, WA, a multi-state distribution supply corporation specializing in institutional furniture and specialty millwork.

Born in Sidney, MT, he was the son of Lyle and Avis Peterson, both of whom preceded him in death.

Mark graduated from Sidney High School, attended Eastern Montana State College, Billings, and Montana State University, Bozeman. He began his career with Sidney Millwork as an installer and estimator working on major projects. After moving to the Seattle area in December 1990, he was a project manager for Ly-Line Products, Inc. of Enumclaw coordinating field installation for major high school and hospital projects. In 1996 he transferred to Old Time Woodworking of Tacoma, and in 1998 he went to Saxton Bradley, Inc. where in 2006 he became an executive and owner.

Mark is survived by his wife of 25 years Carla Cummins Peterson, also originally from Sidney, MT and son Dane of Maple Valley, WA, sisters Susan Peterson (Monty Euston) of Bonney Lake, WA and Nancy Knaff (Michael) of Lakeside, MT. Mark was also closely connected to Carla's family, and to his nieces, nephews and many cousins.

Mark loved to travel, enjoyed cooking, barbecuing and entertaining family and friends. He was an avid Seahawk fan and enjoyed attending the home games and Super Bowl 49. Mark loved spending time on his mountain property with his family and friends. Mark was an honest, considerate, and generous person, the center of the family and always there to lend a hand.

So very, very sorry to learn of your loss. Mark was very special to me in high school, and I know he must have become a very caring and generous husband and father. He was a great guy, and I'm sure he will be sorely missed by all his family, current friends and those of us who knew him years ago. Please know that I will be praying for you, all his family, during this difficult time.

I am so deeply saddened to hear this news about Mark. My deepest and sincere condolences to Carla, Dane and the entire Peterson family. Although Mark and I had lost track of each other over the years, I still considered him to be my best friend. I will always cherish the time we had together, all the way from Little League to him being the best man in my wedding. Words cannot express my sadness. Someone as special as Mark will never be forgotten. He will remain in my heart forever. We can take comfort in knowing that Mark is now resting in the arms of our Lord. He will be truly missed and we will include him and the entire Peterson family in our daily prayers.
