Elizabeth was my best friend Dougs cheerful and brilliant Mom. Having moved abroad in 1970 I had no idea she was among us this half century. Doug and I were in the then new Seattle Public Library one day in 1966 and got a kick out of a little note on display, a kind of dedication, from Robert Frost: May the peace of great phantoms be with you. That seems like an appropriate phrase here for both Doug and his mother.
