One of the very best memories I have of the Scouts is hiking behind Mike in the Cascades and Olympics with my friends of Troop 123. I cherish the photo I have of Mike and my Dad together at the summit of Dosewallips Pass about 1963.

Mike touched the lives of many boy scouts, sharing his love for the mountains and teaching all of us a little more about growing up straight and strong. His thundering velvet hand will be missed.
