Michelle Sloan Obituary

Michelle Kay Sloan

Michelle Kay Sloan (nee Weinstein) was born in Portland, Oregon on June 23rd, 1966. She lived most of her life in Bellevue, Washington. Michelle graduated from USC and majored in Communications. She was married to Marc Geoffrey Sloan of Long Beach, California and raised two wonderful sons, Joshua and Jordan, in Washington state.

Michelle was an exceedingly generous person whose greatest talent and joy was bringing people together. She was a creative, loving, and truly courageous wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend. Michelle was honest to a fault, and always a person one could count on. She brought so much depth, joy and fullness to the lives of those around her, and was truly and deeply loved by everyone who was fortunate enough to know her. Michelle died on November 21st, 2014, after a long battle with breast cancer. She will be so missed.

Michelle is survived by her husband Marc, her sons Joshua and Jordan, her parents Ronald and Devorah Weinstein, as well as a large circle of grieving family and friends. We were blessed to have her. Services will be held at Herzl Ner Tamid Synagogue on Mercer Island on Sunday, November 23rd at 1:15 pm. Donations in Michelle's memory can be made to The Kaplan Cancer Research Fund at Swedish Hospital.

Michelle: Close family friend to our daughter and son-in-law Julie and David Israel. I had the pleasure of speaking to Michelle
in her later years, by phone, and seeing her and her family in addition, from time to time. I remember the phone conversations so well, and always paid attention to the warm sound of Michelle's voice as we spoke. Michelle did so many things to let Julie and David know she cared for them. She made a wonderful hand-made quilt for them
and supplied them with numerous great dishes of food for different occasions.
