Now I feel like a pretty poor friend for losing contact with you both. I've thought about you a lot over the years since you moved to Nevada. Hazel and I agree that Al Meillon was one fine gent. We treasure the friendship we had with you both and we have some fine personal memories. One which some people may not know about was the nice surprises he gave me whenever he turned up at the Saddle Club, here in Santa Rosa, in the uniform and an appropriately marked vehicle of the local volunteer police patrol.

Al will be remembered by those that knew him as a true professional. He certainly helped guide & mentor many of us in our careers as Club Managers. I remember all the years we served together on the Northern California Chapter Club Manager's Scholarship Foundation which now has an endowment of over $380,000. I plan on making a contribution to The Golden State Chapter Scholarship Foundation (new name) in his honor.

I knew Al from his final management position at Santa Rosa Country Club. He always invited young managers up to play the course. He was helpful in my job hunt and giving me a reference when I needed it. He was a good friend
and fellow manager.
