One of the loveliest Alpha Delta Kappa sisters I had the pleasure of meeting. She often warmly welcomed us into her home for council meetings. Really miss this elegant sister.

I recently got together with a few colleagues, and the conversation turned towards our respective teachers who have had the most profound impact on us. Mrs. Konstan was one of those people for me. After that conversation with colleagues, I "googled" her, only to come across this incredibly sad news. Mrs. Konstan (I'm 43 years old, but she will always be Mrs. Konstan, my 4th grade teacher at Thomas Edison) was "strict," but taught me discipline, and it was with her that I had one of the earliest conversations I can recall about my wanting to be a lawyer (that, or a race car driver). She was a wonderful person and teacher. I regret that I was not able to thank her for the impact she had on me (and no doubt on countless others) both academically and personally. Rest in peace Mrs. Konstan, and my most sincere condolences to the Konstan family.

Mrs. Konstan was my 6th Grade teacher at Thomas Edison, a long time ago. I'm 25 now. And I have to say, she definetly installed passion into my work. Whether it was through study, or when I was conflict manager haha. I can honestly say my first strict teacher, but boy did it help me out for great days ahead. Rest in peace Mrs. K. #tigersforever

Athena our wonderful neighbor, was our second mom for over 13 years. my sons call her yia yia. She always put a smile on our faces. Always had reassuring words for me whenever I had doubts. We so admired her bright, loving personality. Athena, we will miss you dearly.

Mrs. Konstan was my 4th grade teacher. She was one of my favorites. As a high schooler, I returned to Thomas Edison as a cadet teacher for Mrs. Yost and would sometimes do paperwork, etc. for Mrs. Konstan as well. She was a strict teacher but I loved her.I had difficulty learning math and she was always trying to find ways to help me. She was fair and kind. I enjoyed learning in her classroom. I also knew her daughters and I'm sure they have become great people - following in their mothers footsteps.

I'm sorry Nicolette, Stephanie, Adrienne and Mark for your loss. It is very hard to lose a parent but please know she has left her mark in this world. I will always remember her with love in my heart. Prayers to you and your family.

I was so very saddened to get several phone calls and e-mails telling me of Athena's passing. As a former teaching colleague, I always thought of Athena as a unique, classy lady - right up to her last day: Greek Easter Sunday.

The education world lost a magnificent teacher when she retired, and now the rest of the world has lost an exceptional woman, as well.

My most sincere sympathy and thoughts to the entire Konstan family.
