On my way to Solano Peet's this past weekend, I anticipated seeing Barry sitting at the front window, hunched over a book. Over the years, we had numerous memorable conversations there. Life, literature, politics, you name it. What a great guy!

I have fond memories of commuting with Barry to SF and hearing his stories of the Free Speech Movement and how it almost died over the holiday break but for the administration's actions during that break that reinvigorated the movement.
