Carol Gilbert Obituary

Carol Gilbert
01/04/1939 - 02/19/2025
Carol Gilbert was born on January 4, 1939, in the Bronx, New York. As if entering a beautiful dream, she passed away on February 19, 2025.
Carol was a woman of remarkable intellect and determination. She graduated high school at just 16 and pursued her passion for nursing. At 18, she married Stuart Gilbert, and together they built a life filled with mutual respect, shared values, and an enduring sense of humor. While raising their beloved sons, Todd and Dan Gilbert, Carol and Stu both pursued advanced degrees, demonstrating their shared commitment to education and personal growth.
Carol balanced family life with a distinguished career as a nurse, social worker, occupational resource specialist, hospital case manager, and ombudsman. Her compassion and take-charge attitude left a lasting impact on her community.
She adored her grandchildren-Corey, Alyssa, Casey, and Noah. Carol's love for her family was unconditional and unwavering.
A woman of grace and wit, Carol had a sharp mind and ritual of reading, solving crossword puzzles and playing Bridge.
Her home was filled with warmth, wisdom, and the comforting aroma of her legendary chicken soup-affectionately known as the greatest Jewish medicine.
Carol lived an exciting and fulfilling life. She traveled to 70 countries across six continents. Her moral compass, strength, and values remain firmly in the hearts of those she leaves behind. Her greatest joy came from her family, and we believe her peaceful dream was to finally be reunited with her beloved husband, Stu.
