To Elisabeth, Irene, family and friends,
Please accept my heartfelt condolences for the loss of your Mom. I remember you both from various Zyme events at Genencor when we worked together there. I was so shocked when I put her name in the search engine and saw this notice.
Your wonderful obituary captures Cathie brilliantly. She was a powerful personality with a huge heart, and tremendously proud of her family (2- and 4-legged), her Catholic faith, and her San Franciscan heritage. A true people person, she told great stories and was always facilitating, connecting, doing something to bring people together. For example, when I mentioned I loved baseball, she couldn't wait to tell me about Irene's friendship with Willie McCovey.
And it was so cool to reconnect with her 15+ years later in Tahoe when she was working with TRPA. We had a couple of great phone gabs that featured much laughter.
I am so sorry for your loss and for losing your Dad as well, as I've just learned of his passing here. Norman was a great guy and was always very kind to me in our few interactions. Quite a couple they were!
I exit here leaving you with this: I know your Mom loved you both fiercely and was incredibly proud of you. May you each keep and hold that love forever, and bestow it in turn upon those you love and care about. Her spirit lives on through you, your kids, those dogs, and every dog you'll encounter.

My interactions with Catherine were brief, but when we did interact, I was met with kindness and support. A fond memory that I have of Catherine is whenever she visited the city, she would always come by my restaurant to purchase garlic bread. She will be greatly missed and my best wishes go out to her family, especially to her lovely daughters, Irene and Elizabeth.
