Daniel Cadigan Obituary

Daniel Patrick Cadigan

Mar 30, 1950 - Jan 12, 2016

Dan passed peacefully after a long battle with prostate cancer with his loving wife by his side. He was preceded in death by his parents, Laurence and Lupe Cadigan, his brother James, and his son Brandon. He is survived by his wife Cathie, sons Sean and Beau, daughter Jennifer Englett (Shane), brother Larry (Jan), and granddaughter Melody Jay. He is fondly remembered as "Uncle Evil" by Larry, Michael, Kelly, Candy, and Chris.
A native San Franciscan, he attended Epiphany and graduated from Balboa High. The summers of Dan's youth were spent, with his cousins, between family cabins at the Russian River and at the Family Ranch in St. Helena.
Dan was a drummer who supplemented his income by working in the automotive industry, managing Bay Radiator, Radiator Network, and as shop manager for TGC. His bands Entwhistle and Semi-Single played in and around Marin Co. in the early 70's. Later Dan played with Western Edge at Molloy's, and then with the Poison Oakies at everyone's favorite festival, "Vinestock", at the Ranch. His greatest joys were being with his loved ones, watching the 49ers and Giants, playing music, and riding his beloved Harley.
Together Dan and wife Cathie played parents to a plethora of other children all of whom they loved, who loved him, and by whom he will be dearly missed. Dan was a warm and loving man - and a great hugger! - with a sharp wit, who will be missed too by his huge and loving extended family of cousins, many friends, and band mates.
We would also like to extend our thanks to his doctors, Lai, Weber, Hernandez, Chauser, the nursing staff of the tenth floor at Seton, and Pathways Hospice for the great care they took of our Danny.
