Dennis Parker Obituary

Dennis Floyd Parker It is with deep sorrow and regret we announce that Dennis Floyd Parker beloved husband, father, brother, and friend passed away 7-22-2011. Dennis was born in Fresno, California on 11-14-1943 to Floyd and Bernice Parker. Dennis graduated from Richmond Union High School in 1961. He received an Honorable Discharge after serving in the US Air Force from July 1962 through July 1966. He went to work for Safeway Stores, Inc. in 1967 and retired in 2001. He then had a 2nd career/retirement from BART in 2011 as a train operator. Dennis was an avid outdoorsman, sportsman and guitarist. Dennis is survived by his wife Kimberly; children Tami, Douglas, Jason, Norae` and Jorden; sister Lonna; seven grandchildren, as well as nieces, nephews and beloved nana Aline Williams. Dennis had friends too numerous to mention, all who loved him and will miss him dearly. He was a kind and gentle soul with a patient heart who never complained. As almost a summation of his life, take these words from one of his favorite songs by the Beatles: "And in the end, the love you take; is equal to the love you make". Memorial services with full military honors will be held to commemorate Dennis' life on Saturday, August 20, 2011 @ 2:00 P.M. at Parkway Community Church, 2397 Heath Drive, Fairfield, CA 94533.

Well old friend, today we said goodbye to you. Or as many say "Until We Met Again", as Pastor Larry said so many times today, you caught all of us with you gentle nature, humor and even temper, held us with your never ending friendship, and the released us to pay it forward to others. What better way can you greet God and know that you have made such an impact on all your friends lives.
