Donna Diseroad passed away on Saturday, July 6th at the age of 71. She was a loving mother, aunt, sister and grandmother.
Donna was born in Bloomsburg, PA on March 31, 1953 to Donald Diseroad and Patricia Kistler. She grew up in Baltimore and graduated from Woodlawn Senior High School in 1971. She attended Virginia Polytechnic Institute and graduated in 1975 with a Bachelor of Science. She got her Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy from Texas Women's University in Denton, TX. Donna served in the Peace Corps in Thailand from 1979 - 1981 then moved to the San Francisco Bay Area and started a family. Donna worked at Children's Hospital Oakland as an Occupational Therapist for 39 years; it was her life's work to support children and their families. She raised two children in a happy and loving home in Moraga, CA. Donna cherished her friends and community and was an active volunteer with the Assistance League of Diablo Valley, the Asian Art Museum in San Francisco and was involved in many book clubs. She was a master gardener and baker who delighted family and friends with her delicious desserts. Her love of art, travel and the outdoors took her and her loved ones to many places throughout the world.
Donna is survived by her daughter, Kiel Stroupe (Kendrick Coburn) and grandson on the way, her son, Reed Stroupe and granddaughter Kava Gage, and her brothers David and Kurt Diseroad. She had many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins on both the Kistler and Diseroad side of her family. Her deepest love and dedication in life were her children and her community of friends near and far. She will be dearly missed.
A celebration of her life will be held at The Gardens at Heather Farms in Walnut Creek, CA on July 21 at 11 AM.
