Donna Riccomi was surrounded by her family when she passed away in Shingletown, CA after a short but courageous fight against cancer. Born and raised in SF, and survived by her mother, Barbara Deschler, she spent most of her life in Daly City, where she graduated from Westmoor and later got her Degree in Child Development from City College, SF. After starting her career in education as a Physical Education Aide at MP Brown in 1986, Donna moved to JFK in 1987 where she served the children and families of the school and community for 27 years. During those years she worked with special needs students, provided tutoring, after school care and so much more, to so many more. In her spare time, Donna loved vacationing to tropical places with her husband, and fitting in those Disneyland trips with her girls when she could. She also enjoyed reading and being in the country surrounded by sights and sounds of the nature and wild animals around her.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.

To the family and friends of Donna,
I;m shocked and so sorry as I just heard this news tonight from my cousin Cindy. I have wondered if they had moved as I never got any response from Christmas cards or otherwise. I'm so so sorry Dave, my cousin.
My heart is broken for you. Rest In Peace Donna.

OMG!!! I just found out! I am so shocked and heartbroken as are my kids who were her students. I have been thinking about her so much recently, now I know why! Donna, you also taught me so much when I worked by your side first as a volunteer and then an employee of JFK for over 20 years. You were always straight forward and took your job seriously and to the heart! What a great loss for all of us here! You will be so greatly missed! My heart goes out to her family and especially to her grandson Courtney, who was the love of her life! I'm really going to miss you Donna, you have no idea how much! Rest in peace in God's arms, Donna and watch over all of us, especially the children you loved so much! Give Alliya and Angelica and all the other students that have passed before us a bunch of kisses and big bear hugs for me...I know they are with you! Bless you Donna...heaven truly gained an angel, a beautiful angel! Love you and miss you!

My second Mom growing up, I am a better person having known you. Thanks for the childhood dinners, sleepovers, trips, picnics, etc. You were such a beautiful person, inside and out. Thank you for bringing up two of the best "sisters" I can ever have. Thank you for inspiring me to work with children. Thank you for all you did for our community. A part of your soul lives on in all the lives you've touched. Rest in peace knowing your mission here on earth is complete. Love you so much! xoxoxoxo

"Ms. Riccomi!" I'll never forget those words from the mouths of thousands of little voices. I loved working with Donna at JFK. I have really missed her since I left. Donna, Emily Estelita and Jim Kohler had the best team. They were always laughing. Her light was always bright. She always had a smile on her face and the most positive attitude ever. She was so dedicated to her students, friends and family. Her light will always shine. Thank you, Donna, for sharing your life with us. See you later. ❤
