He also composed and published more than 20 poems as a member of the International Society of Poets. Earl served as a " Big Sir" in the Sons in Retirement organization, as the "Exalted Ruler" in Elks Lodge 2091, South San Francisco, and as a life member of VFW Post #4103. Earl's finally resting place is at Cypress Lawn Memorial Park, Colma, CA. My sincere condolences to Earl's wife Gertrude and their family. I remember Earl as a valued friend, a colleague at US Customs, and as a staunch supporter of the annual US Customs Old-timers Luncheon. I remember his quick wit, awesome job knowledge, and a certain worldliness to his outlook on life. A one of a kind personality, he will be missed, and remembered fondly, and with a smile, by all that he touched.
