I remember Eddie as a gifted athlete, attentive student, respectful young man who also exhibited humility. Even as a young high school kid, I always new Eddie Scurry was truly a cut above the rest. We all looked up to him not because he was tall, but because he was a great example of what a young man should be.

I attended SJND in Alameda, and had the privilege to watch Eddie play for our little school.Eddie was a very very nice guy....with a constant smile in the hallways and on the school grounds that will always be remembered. And the man could play ball too!

I played ball with Eddie at St Joe's in 1969. I think of him as always such a gentle soul. Very kind. He was the young pup of our team. My thoughts and prayers to your family.

Sorry & sad to hear of Eddie's passing. I will always remember him as a kind hearted generous person. He would sometimes run into a colleague of ours or a friend of mine and send me his business card with best wishes. He will be missed.
