Edward Vocker Obituary

Edward Benjamin Vocker August 4, 1911 - June 1, 2008 Edward Vocker passed away peacefully at his home in San Francisco on June 1, 2008 at the age of 96. His beloved wife of 61 years, Alma and his eldest son, John W. Vocker preceded him in death. Ed was born on August 4, 1911 in St. Louis, MO, and moved to San Francisco in 1937. He served in the US Army during WWII in Europe and North Africa. He returned to SF in 1945, where he and Alma lived and raised their three sons. He was the devoted father to Robert Vocker (Carolyn) and Thomas Vocker (Diane); loving grandpa to Michael, Kimberly (Bryan), Lisa (Mike), Brian (Pilar) and Stephanie; cherished great-grandpa to Matthew and Elizabeth Lofberg and Isabella Vocker. He was a loving, caring and generous man who cared for all those he met. His special love will never be forgotten by his family and friends. Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass on Tuesday, June 10, 2008, 11am at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, 40th Ave. and Ulloa, SF. Committal services were held privately at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery. Donations may be made in memory of Edward to: St. Gabriel School Fund, 2550 41st Ave., SF, CA 94116.
