Eric (Rick) Hanson passed away suddenly. He was 61 years young! Eric was a native of San Francisco. He graduated from George Washington High School. Eric worked as a welder repairing shipping containers in Oakland until retiring 10 years ago. He lived in the Glen Park neighborhood for 30 years. After he retired, Eric walked neighbor's dogs, held gigantic garage sales, and baked cookies and cakes for all his friends and neighbors. To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.

It is very sad to learn about Eric. He defined what a dog walker should be. He was probably the best dog walker in San Francisco. I looked forward to him coming to the dog park and all of the dogs flocked around him. He was like St. Francis with the dogs and he carried the best treats. The dogs he cared for genuinely got the best walks and exercise. He was the kindest man and I bet the rottweiler is waiting for him in heaven.

I met Eric when he was living @ his parents house on Kenwood St.S.F.,Of coarse it was Holloween & he was the talk of all the kids in the neigborhood,He was "The Invisible Man"just like out of the movies.Although he was older then us,he became like a big brother helping us with sports:He was a very good football player in High School,he always let us know how much he enjoyed beating our school,Lincoln. We went to many SF Giants & 49er games through the years.I'll never forget how generous & thoughtful he was.He attended both my parents funerals,My mothers just over a year ago was the last time I saw him.Looking forward to his service in April so we can share the many stories of his life, his art work"God Eyes"& many photos.God Bless you,Eric,You will be missed!
