Fred was a force of spirit and wisdom that was a pleasure to work with through the years. He was a good friend, and taught those of us fortunate to work with him a lot with his strength and candor. My condolences. May he rest in peace.

Sylvia,
We were so saddened by Fred's death. He had a wonderful spirit and heart....brings back fun memories of Olympic Club days and get togethers.
We always loved to hear about him from mutual friend and relatives.
You and your family are in our hearts and prayers.

Fred was the older brother I never had. We worked together at St. Ignatius College Prep for a handful of years, and he led the efforts by the school's sesquicentennial committee to stay a block party that drew in more than 7,000 people. He led a number of special projects, including building the new press box and the glass covering over Orradre Courtyard. He had a wonderful sense of humor -- definitely old school -- and gave me wonderful advice, including the warning never to drink a cappuccino after noon. My love to Sylvia and his wonderful children.

Sylvia and Family
Joe and I were shocked to hear Fred's name remembered this morning at St. Ignatius Parish, and wanted to let you know that we are praying for you and your family at this difficult time of loss. Seeing his obituary photo reminded us of a time at your home and a fabulous meal in honor of John Christen. Then we saw Fred at Original Joe's in North Beach not long thereafter. But we also remember his incredible handling of the St. Ignatius High School memorable reunions, when we were sitting outside and visiting with all the attendees. He also arranged a benefit for school with the showing of one of the Harry Potter movies, which we were lucky enough to get tickets for.
He is certainly a man well remembered for many positive qualities, and we are so very sorry for your loss. An Italian toast, followed with an epicurean meal, will bring instant recognition of Fred and you and your culinary delights.
With Fondness, Joe and Ginnie Baldelli
