George was like a brother to my Dad- Tom Kelly. George and his family are my family too. So many great times and wonderful stories I could write a book! I cherish the memory of him reading books to all of us kids. The picnics and the laughter and the love. The really special friendship my Dad and George had is what means so much to me. As my Dad aged his priority was calling and visiting George. It was amazing to see how George lived with such a positive attitude with his Parkinson's. Keep my Dad company now George. I am so happy I got to see you and laugh with you recently. You were a true gentleman with a great sense of humor and a big heart. Sending all our love and condolences to the family.

My father used to always say that George was his favorite cousin; Pop thought being brought up by Uncle George and Aunt Isabel was the key to George's good humor, happy attitude, and embracing nature. I just remember at a Murphy party at his folks' house in the Sunset, George taking several of us kids downstairs to the rumpus room to see the slot machines Uncle George acquired as a cop. I was also charmed by the relationship between George and Yo -- they loved one another and they loved their kids. My sympathies to all. He was a good egg.

George was a member of the "club" in which my dad, Ollie Rea and mom, Carmel, would save one dollar weekly along with George and Yolanda and another couple from the newspaper and go out to dinner twice a year (long ago when a dollar meant something). They loved those times out together!! They were great friends. God Bless George......
