I just recently heard of Gil's death. I didn't know him well but remember him as an outstanding student and athlete. I did not know he had become a physician but I am not surprised because he was a serious student and certainly capable of excelling in whatever profession he chose.
My condolences to his family. May the Lord comfort you all as you go through this time of sorrow and loss.

I was very moved to learn of Gil's passing away.
He sat behind me in class while we both attended St Ignatius High School in the 1950's, and was one of the most successful and inspirational classmates in the school at the time I attended.
Despite all the glory he was surrounded with due to his contribution towards winning the San Francisco AAA football championship in 1956-7, he remained a friendly and understanding person, who I have kept in my memory ever since graduation and my return to Belgium.

Thanks, Gil, for the memories at Notre Dame des Victories and St. Ignatius High School, and the reunions in later years. Best wishes to Molly, your children and grandchildren. You have left a great legacy. Daniel Clarke Flynn, Verviers and Brussels, Belgium
