Greta Gregory Memoriam

Greta Gregory
On November 12, Greta Lois Gregory, beloved mother, grandmother, aunt, and dear friend, at 93, crossed over into the "great beyond." Born and raised in San Francisco, she spent the majority of her life in San Mateo. Greta's, maiden name was Smith with a first marriage to Arthur Williams and a second to Joseph Gregory. She was a fourth generation Californian, and descendant of the Mayflower pilgrims as well as the Mormons, who arrived in Yerba Buena in 1846.
Greta attended Lowell High, San Francisco State, and San Jose State. She became an Occupational Therapist and worked at St. Mary's Hospital, McAuley Psychiatric Unit.
Greta belonged to SF State's Kappa Theta sorority and cherished her "sisters" for almost 75 years. Other passions included antiquing and the Sierras. Greta had friends young and old who were easily drawn to her kind, caring spirit. She leaves behind a loving family and many devoted friends.
She was preceded in death by husband, Joseph Gregory; and daughter, Karla Williams; and survived by three children, Gwen Williams, Curt Williams, wife, Margaret Williams, Chris Williams; and grandchildren, Rhys Williams, and wife, Michele Williams, Meaghan Foreman, and Quinn Bailey.
Her presence on this earth will be immensely missed. A private Celebration of Life will be held. Donations in her memory may be made to Yosemite Conservatory and the Sierra Club.
