Harry F. Camp

Harry F. Camp Passed away in San Francisco on Friday, April 10, 2009 at age 86. He is survived by his beloved wife of 23 years, Judith Ichelson Camp; beloved father of Janis Meek and Dr. H. Edward Camp; devoted grandfather of Jamie Camp Meek and Kevin Meek. Cherished uncle of Dr. Barry Baron, Joan Vennemeyer, and Herbert Marcus. Beloved son of the late Harry and Dora Camp, and brother of the late Gene Baron. A native of San Francisco and a graduate of Lowell High School, and U.C. Berkeley. Harry was the San Francisco Junior golf Champion at age 16. Harry was a prominent San Francisco business owner and a highly decorated Army Air Corps pilot in WWII. He remained an avid golfer, a private pilot and entrepreneur. He was Chairman of the Board, for the National Conference of Christians and Jews, and was active member of the City Club and Congregation Emanu-El. A true gentleman, with a dry sense of humor, he will be missed by his wide circle of close friends. Memorial services will be held on Monday, April 13th at 2:00 pm at Congregation Emanu-El, 2 Lake Street in San Francisco. Private burial at Home of Peace Cemetery in Colma. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund or to the charity of your choice.
