HELEN STUDEBAKER WAS A FANTASTIC MENTOR TO ME WHEN I WAS IN HER CULINARY CLASSES FROM MY FRESHMAN YEAR TO MY SENIOR YEAR. I HAD LEARNED SO MUCH FROM HER ABOUT THE DIFFERENT TYPES OF FOOD & THE FLAVORS. I REMEMBER THE PRE-FIX LUNCH SHE HAD ARRANGED AT A JAPANESE RESTAURANT FOR THE SENIOR CLASS. THE FOOD WAS FANTASTIC & SOME OF THE CLASS WAS GROSED OUT WHEN RHE FISH DISH WAS BROUGHT OUT BECAUSE THE HEAD WAS STILL ON IT. I HAVE BEEN TRYING & APPRECIATING THE FOODS OF DIFFERENT CULTURES TO THIS DATE. I HAVE BEEN ON A COUPLE OF CRUISES & I HAVE ENJOYED TRYING DIFFERENT FOODS. THEY HAVE BEEN REALLY GOOD & I HAVE BEEN IN THE PROCESS OF FINDING THE RECIPES TO MAKE THEM. I HAVE CONTINUED TO COOK GOURMET FOODS FOR FAMILY & FRIENDS. I BELONG TO A MEN'S CLUB AT MY CHURCH & WE DO A SPAGHETTI DINNER FOR THE PARISH. MYSELF & A COUPLE OF MEMBERS COOK OUR SAUCE FROM SCRATCH. I HAVE FELT HER PRESENCE THE FIRST TIME I MADE THE SAUCE GUIDING ME ALONG THE WAY TO MAKE IT JUST RIGHT. I WILL CONTINUE TO HOLD HER IN THE HIGHEST REGARDS FOR MY COOKING SKILLS.

Today is the day of Helen's memorial and we are thinking of you, David, and each member of the family, too. We wish we could be there, but we are glad could see her when we were in California in November and December. We will continue to hold you in our thoughts and prayers.
Love, Gwen (and Wayne)
