Henry Keenan Obituary

Henry C. Keenan Died at his home in San Francisco on August 11th at the age of 91. Former district judge of the 1st Judicial District Court, MT, he graduated from Stanford Univ. and the Univ. of Montana Law School. During WWII he served as a US Army Air Corp pilot captain. He practiced law in the State of Montana developing a specialty in water law, serving as chairman of the Reserved Water Rights Compact Commission and member of the Western States Water Council. He served three terms in the Montana State legislature. As a public servant he presided over: the Montana State Bar Assoc.; the Western States Bar Assoc.; the Jack Rabbit Bar Assoc.; the Helena Lions Club, the YMCA; and was ordained elder of the 1st Presbyterian Church, Helena. A consummate outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fly fishing, wilderness hiking, cross country skiing, diving and running. Survived by his wife, Doris McKeever of San Francisco; two sons, Bruce and Lester, from his former marriage; five grandchildren and five great-grand-children. Also two stepchildren, Chauncie McKeever Rodzianko of Tuxedo Park, NY, and Jill McKeever Mercer of Newton, MA; and three step grandchildren. No service is planned. Memorials may be made to charity of choice.
