I just read about Herb's passing in the Chronicle. Many years ago I had the privilege of volunteering with him in the Senior Tutors Program at Lakeview Elementary school in Oakland. I was always struck by his intellect, kindness and sweet demeanor.
My deepest sympathies. Kathi Roisen
