Hi Ann, Katy and John, Jack and I had a great time growing up in the Sunset. Golden Gate Park was our playground we played hide and seek also strike out in the hand ball courts, we also watched Milten Berle on Tuesday nights in front of a TV in the window of the Tv store on Irving St we probably were 10 or 12 years old at the time. You guys came to our Christmas parties on San Mateo Ave in San Bruno making decorations and decorating the Christmas. We also went to watch the Crosby at Pebble Beach. Ann you did not like to walk that far so you would sit by a hole and wait for us. One year I got a speeding ticket on Sunday morning at about 7:00 am on 280 I think the ticket was 60 mph on a 55-mph speed limit getting to the Crosby. On occasion we would go out to dinner and one of us would pick out a restaurant one of us pick out a restaurant and the others would critique the restaurant whether good or bad. We always had a great time with the Scramaglias

Mr. Jack Scramaglia, my favorite homeroom teacher, P.E. teacher, baseball coach, and track coach at Roosevelt Jr. High School in the '60's. My son Brent had him too in the early 90's, and Mr. Scramaglia was still at Roosevelt when my daughter Lauren was there in the late 90's.
Mr. Scramaglia taught me a lot about life, importance of eating right, exercise, baseball, sprinting, sports, and sportsmanship. We used to sit and talk a lot. Out of all the teachers I ever had in my school years, Mr. Scramaglia influenced me the most.
I used to visit with him when my kids were at Roosevelt and he used to tell me to call him Jack, but I couldn't. It was always Mr. Scramaglia. lol He has always been in my thoughts and holds a special place in my heart. Sending my deepest condolences to his family. Love, Benson Wong

I first met Jack in 1953 as a 10 year old playing baseball at Portola Park for the legendary Grove Mohr who was also Jack's baseball coach at St. Ignatius High School. Jack , a truly nice person, was one of my boyhood heroes and I enjoyed working with him on the San Francisco Prep Hall of Fame Committee. My deepest sympathy to Jack's family. Dick Morosi
