After a brief illness John is now at rest. He was born and raised in San Francisco and graduated from Corpus Christi, Archbishop Riordan High and attended University of Colorado at Boulder. John's true lifetime passion was music. He was a drummer and proud member of the Musician's Union Local 6. John appeared in the movie "American Graffiti" as a member of group "Flash Cadillac and the Continental Kids," for which he received Gold and Platinum Albums.
John was the beloved son of the late Lou and Jo Masino, dear brother and brother-in-law of JoAnn and Dave Lara, and loving uncle of Matt Lara. He also leaves behind many loving cousins.
Friends may visit after 10:00AM on Thursday, August 22, 2013 and are invited to attend a Funeral Liturgy at 12:00PM also on Thursday at the chapel s of Valente Marini Perata and Co., 4840 Mission Street, SF where services will conclude. Online condolences may be offered online at www.vmpandco.com

RIP John
Will always remember what a great rhythm section we made, and the good times we had on Mission Street backing the likes of Foolish Pleasure and Max Sabre, and mixing it up with all the rest
