Ann, Mike, John,
I am so sorry for the loss of your Mom and Dad this year! I worked for McGraw Insurance in the early 90's. My name is Kim Cross, formerly Kim Holmes. You gave me my first real job after college. I am forever grateful to have had the pleasure of working for all of you and having known you. Ann taught me so much and was so patient with all of my questions! I have such fond memories of Mr. and Mrs. McGraw. They truly made everyone feel important when they would stop by your desk and say, "Hi" and see how you are doing. They are one of a kind and I haven't met anyone like them since. Hard working, genuine, caring people. They give true meaning to family business! Blessings and prayers to all of you!

John, Ann and Mike,
I have so many fond memories of you and your parents.
I remember babysitting you guys, and your Dad would give me a bunch of money to go out, and they keys to the convertable Mustang. Who wouldn't want that job as a teenager, right?
Or when your parents gave me one of their TV's to take away to college. I was the "Bomb" with my 14 channel black and white TV!
I know it's been a lot of years, and I could go on and on about but the wonderful memories of your parents, which have not faded one bit.
I will be thinking about you, and my thoughts and prayers go out to you and your families.

Jack & Joan gave me my first job and I hung in there for 30 yrs. Well after their retirement! I often would email Jack and he always had encouraging words. I'm so sorry I did not get to visit as he would ask every time we communicated. I could go on and on about all the ways they helped me, but this message would never end! I will never forget this awesome couple! They are timeless and will forever be special in my heart.

My sympathies to Jack´s family. My husband, John, was a friend of Jack´s going back to days at Creighton Prep and I believe grade school. He and Joan always welcomed us to their elegant parties when we were in Palm Desert. Thank you for the memories Jack.

I knew them as Mr. & Mrs. McGraw. I don't think I ever called them by their first names. It was the respect you had for both of them when you worked in the McGraw office. My first job was at McGraw Insurance in the 80's; stuffing envelopes, filing policies and running errands of all sorts in Mr. McGraw's fancy car. Mr. & Mrs. McGraw gave me an opportunity and experience I have not forgotten. My mom, Anita, worked there for 20+ years and any day off I had from school, summers included, I would work at the office.
You always knew he had arrived at the office because Scooter(their dog at the time) would come running in and not too far behind was Mr. McGraw sharply dressed, shoes shined, pocket square and a pile of paperwork under his arm that he had taken home the night before. Before he sat down at his desk, he always made it a point to say hello to everyone and ask you how you were doing.
His work ethic, enthusiasm, energy, generosity and sincere kindness will always be remembered.

I remember Mr. McGraw mostly from St. Joseph´s grade school basketball games in that tiny gym. Always enthusiastically cheering us on even when we were down by 20. Or up by 20. He had more energy than most people half his age. IF he could have willed us to win, we'd have been undefeated. :) We could all learn a lesson about living life to the fullest from him. Prayers for the McGraw family.

Thank you for letting me know. They all lived across the street from me and my kids for at least 25 years and I remember both Joan and Jack fondly.

Jack was an awesome man who set the bar high for professionalism, for achieving what is possible and for reaching out to others. I learned much from him while on the Pacific Specialty Board. He was an incredible leader!
