I have many fond memories of Julie. A wonderful teacher for my son Michael who was fortunate to have her teach his 7th and 8th grade year. A nice teacher and person that will be missed by many. Good memories of fun times on the tennis court playing doubles with Mrs. Firpo.
Julie was a good and fun tennis player! My condolences to the entire Presta family. I wish I could attend the memorial.

Over the years, I've often been asked who my favorite teacher was. The answer was always easy. Miss Presta. I came to St. Robert's in 6th grade, and it was difficult. When I got to 7th grade, things were still difficult, except for one thing.....Miss Presta. I learned so much from her. Here's just a few things. I can still rattle off "be verbs": is, was, were am, are, be, been, being. If you have the sniffles, blow your damn nose! Why are you sucking it back in??? Just because you don't know something doesn't make you dumb. Miss Presta wasn't mean, and yet she didn't coddle. She always seemed to have the belief that I would "get it". And I did. It was in her class I discovered it's possible that I just might be smart. She would tell me I did a good job on something, without sounding surprised. Her confidence gave me confidence. Little did I know how hard my life was going to become. I am sure that my time in Miss Presta's 7th grade class helped give me the belief in myself so I could get through it all. Miss Presta, you made a profound difference in my life, and I thank you.

Miss Presta was my 8th grade teacher at St. Robert's a "few years ago. She was a wonderful teacher and I have many fond memories of her. I am grateful to have been her student. Sorry to say that I can't make her memorial, but since I'll be at work at my local library, I know she would understand and send approval.
