Kathleen Freschet Obituary

Kathleen Freschet

May 11, 1927 to January 27, 2019

Reunited with her beloved husband of 61 years, Leno Freschet, Kathleen Freschet passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 27, at the age of 91 surrounded by the warmth of her family.

Known for her beauty, grace, humor, infectious laugh, devotion to family and deep religious faith, her inspirational spirit will endure in her 5 loving children, 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

A San Mateo resident since her marriage in 1951, Kathleen was an active member of both the St. Gregory and St. Matthew parishes, serving as a Cub Scout, Brownie and Girl Scout leader and PTA member. She derived great joy participating in church activities, and especially enjoyed organizing religious events to promote prayer and world peace in honor of our Blessed Mother. She was a proud member of the Peninsula Italian American Women's Club and was an accomplished player and aficionado of bocce ball.

Kathleen is survived by her son Norman Freschet (Mary); daughters Maureen Freschet (Andy Cresci), Denise Sammons (Tim); Lisa McCormick and Mary Patrice Feldmeier (Roland).

She will be remembered with a Rosary at 7 p.m. on Thursday, January 31st at Sneider, Sullivan and O'Connell's Funeral Home in San Mateo, and a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. on Friday February 1st at St. Matthew Catholic Church in San Mateo followed by internment at Holy Cross Cemetery in Colma.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Hospice of Amador County or the Arthritis Foundation are appreciated.

Kathleen was a great supporter of our Columbus Day Celebrations each year in San Mateo County . For many years she put together gift baskets in her home for our fundraiser raffle prizes. She loved doing whatever she could to make our annual Italian Heritage Celebration a great success . . She was a kind and generous person who never wanted any credit for her long hours of volunteer work behind the scenes . The members of the PIASC will greatly miss her , especially the members of our San Mateo County Columbus Day Committee. May she rest in peace. Terry Anderlini
