Lawrence Barrett Jr.

Lawrence Barrett, Jr. March 21, 1924 - Dec 3, 2011 Lawrence (Larry) was raised in San Mateo, CA. He attended Bellarmine Preparatory High School, USF, and graduated from UC Berkeley in 1945. In 1956 he married Mary Folger of Palo Alto, CA. and resided in Hillsborough until his retirement in 1989 when he moved to Palm Springs. Larry along with siblings, was VP of his family business, Larry Barrett, Inc., founded by their father Larry Sr. Pioneers in the garage industry, the business was comprised of various parking garages and lots, a downtown airport bus terminal and car rental agency, & the KBHK television studios. Larry was a member of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem, Legion of Mary, & the Marian Cenacle. Blessed with an outstanding quick wit, Larry spent his life enjoying his love of books, theatre, animals, and travel. Larry is survived by his wife Mary of 55 years, his children, Lawrence Folger Barrett of Tehachapi, Bradford Barrett of Los Angeles, Grace Ferrando of Atherton, Mary Rodriguez of Vienna, VA, Patricia Barrett-Mugge of Valencia, CA and nine adored grandchildren. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, Waverly Street, Palo Alto on Sat, Dec 10th at 10am. A Rosary to be recited at 9:30am prior to Mass. Burial to follow at Gate of Heaven cemetery, Los Altos.
