Linda Thomas Obituary

Linda Lee Thomas June 22, 1948 - December 18, 2005 Linda died unexpectedly, but peacefully at home. She lived her motto joyously, "Always look on the bright side of life." She was never without a smile on her face, a kind, cheerful word, and genuine care for every one she met. Linda had many passions: sports, travel, Broadway shows and show tunes, and her beloved Cal Bears. She relished sharing these passions with her wide circle of good friends and chronicling the adventures they shared. Linda was born in Watsonville and grew up in the Central Valley. She graduated from the University of California at Berkeley in 1970, and received her masters degree in international business from Thunderbird School of International Business in 1971. She had a long successful career in marketing and training, and she spent the last 16 years as a director in the Marketing Department at Round Table Pizza, Inc. Linda was a longtime resident of Alameda. Linda is survived by her brothers, Norman Thomas Jr., and Robert Thomas; niece, Andrea Thomas; nephews, Owen Thomas, Jeffrey Thomas and Mark Thomas; her uncles Gordon Thomas and Paul Thomas; her aunt Isabel Thomas; her "sisters of the heart," Judi Fletcher, and Janie Hanson; her beloved godchildren, Greg Fletcher, Lisa Fletcher, Robbie Hanson, Helene Hanson and Lillian Quinata; and her large and loving family of friends. We will daily and always remember her joyful spirit, her selfless care, and the great love she had for us all. Memorial Services will be held for Linda on Sunday January 29 at 2:00 pm at Veteran's Memorial Building, 3780 Mt. Diablo Blvd, Lafayette. Donations may be made in her memory to Glide Memorial Church, American Cancer Society, or a charity of the donor's choice.

To family and friends,

Please find peace in knowing the gentle impact that Lin had on many lives. She was a truly gracious and supporting friend and co-worker for many years. In my eyes she won't be missed, she will be remembered. As I face challenges in the future, Lin's spirit will guide me to make the right choices.
