Llane Hechanova Militar

Passed away peacefully in her home on September 3, 2017 at the age of 85. Devoted wife to the late Ernesto Militar, beloved sister of Gil Jr., Neil (predeceased), and Rosita, mother of Michael and Lizette, and grandmother of Matthew and Alyssa. She held a special place in her heart for her brother-in-law Eufrone, sister-in-law Edith, nieces Judette, Suzette, and Grace, and son-in-law Adam, and was a second mother to nieces and nephews here in the US and in the Philippines. Following Ernesto's death in 1990, she remained close to her extended Militar family, including her siblings-in-law and their families. Llane attended Assumption, Iloilo and the University of Santo Tomas in Manila and was a long-time resident of San Francisco.
She will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, love for food and travel, and her resilience and inner strength. The family is deeply grateful to Ester, Mel, and Estrella, Llane's constant companions in her last years.
Friends may visit Monday, September 11, 2017 from 4:00pm-9:00pm at DUGGAN'S SERRA MORTUARY, 500 Westlake Ave., Daly City where a Vigil Service will be held at 7:00pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at 10:00am at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 19 St. Mary's Avenue, San Francisco. Interment at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, Colma.
