Lucy Wang Obituary

Lucy Wang
September 22, 1960 - March 3, 2023
Lucy Hsiao-Tsing Wang, 62, died unexpectedly and tragically on March 3, 2023, in San Francisco, CA. She was taken from us too soon, with so much more life to live.
She was born in Taipei, Taiwan on September 22, 1960, to Paul Yi-Fei Wang and Loretta Mu-Lan Wang. She graduated from David Douglas High School in Portland, OR, and received her bachelor's degree in marketing from the University of Oregon, in Eugene, OR. A proud and active member of Chi Omega sorority, she was inducted in the University of Oregon chapter, Class of 1980. Most of her career was spent in banking, having just celebrated 25 years with Wells Fargo, most recently as Project Manager, VP, Wealth, and Investment Management Portfolio Delivery.
Since 1985, Lucy had resided in San Francisco, CA and enjoyed to the fullest what the city had to offer. She made friends easily throughout her life and was a vivacious, adventurous, and stunningly beautiful person. All who met her could not help but be charmed by her effervescent and generous personality. She loved to travel, having most recently travelled to Australia in March 2020 and frequently reminisced about memorable trips to Italy, France, and Turkey. Cooking for others was one of her passions, and we all looked forward to her holiday dinner contributions. She was the go-to for advice on the latest in fashion, as she had an unparalleled eye for contemporary fashion and an unmatched sense of style. She was a loving and doting aunt to her nephews and was always current with their daily antics. They shared a mutual love for cats, Shiba Inus, Samoyeds and funny animal videos. She made it a priority to be a physical presence in their lives even though she did not live nearby.
Lucy had her demons and tragically, those demons overtook and monopolized her life during COVID lockdown. Even after emerging from COVID lockdown, she could not overcome them, despite her friends and family's interventions.
She leaves behind her sisters, Margaret Wang of Roseville, CA; Anne Wang of Portland, OR; brother-in-law, Dick Casali; nephews, Logan and Nicholas Casali. She also leaves behind innumerable work and personal friends (many being both) who, as we, are stunned and shattered by her unexpected passing.
A Celebration of Life will be held later at a date to be determined. To receive future notification, please send contact information to [email protected].

Oh Lucy, it´s 5/2024 and I am learning that you are gone. I think of you often. How I´ve missed you for so long my dear amazing friend. I will always remember your hallways lined with shoe boxes, our laughter filled roller coaster rides at the Boardwalk, our crazy fun emotional nights out and the last time we spoke. We will all miss you but your pain is now gone, I am grateful to have known you xoxox

I´m so sorry for the loss of Lucy We graduated together at David Douglas high school in 1978 although I didn´t know her personally, I do remember her great smile. So sad to see class mates go to soon. My condolences to the family and her work family and friends. May God show her the ever lasting life we all will see. She´s in a better place now. But so sad to see anyone go so soon.

My work days will never be the same now that I won't see her IMs pop up on my screen. In addition to work we'd chat about travel, cooking, politics, etc. Chatting with her always made me smile and often even laugh out loud. We became friends after she visited Minneapolis and agreed to let me take her snowshoeing. We ended up at an Italian restaurant instead. We had some wonderful adventures traveling together. The London hotel 'scary cat painting', chasing down the perfect oyster in Cancale, France and the crazy Budapest neighbor are just a few of the fun memories she leaves behind. I will remain forever grateful I had the chance to know her.

My heart goes out to Lucy's family. She was taken way too soon.... It has been awhile since I last talked with her, but we were friends in San Francisco. She was so full of life and always wore that huge smile. She was gentle and kind and a good friend. This is a devastating loss for everyone around her. Peace my friend!
