Mary Driscoll Obituary

Mary Elizabeth Driscoll
06/04/1943 - 04/29/2025
Mary was born in San Francisco to Mary Theresa and Timothy Joseph Driscoll (both deceased). She lived a life filled with love, humor, and adventure.
She is survived by her partner Mark Schapira, siblings Carol Cogliandro, James Driscoll, and Kathleen Mino. Marybeth is preceded in death by her siblings Timothy Driscoll, John Driscoll, Joan Allen, and Monica Driscoll. As a devoted aunt, Marybeth shared a special bond with her nieces/grandnieces and nephews/grandnephews, always eager to learn of and participate in their individual lives and activities.
Marybeth was an educator at heart; whether teaching in the classroom, helping aspiring teachers attain their credentials at USF, or sharing her knowledge with others, she was a proponent of all forms of education. She was brilliant and embodied lifelong learning with flair and curiosity, and a healthy dose of sass. For anyone who knew her, she was also always right (as she loved to attest to!) Whether diving into a spirited political debate, jetting off to new destinations, devouring the latest novel, or dressing in the latest fashion, she did it all with style and spark. Marybeth's ability for connecting with people, and generously sharing her sharp insights, left an unforgettable mark on everyone lucky enough to have known her.
A celebration of Marybeth's life will be held at St. Brendan's Catholic Church on Friday, May 16th, at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Vision of Hope, Mercy Burlingame, or Archbishop Riordan.

To Carol Cogliandro and the entire Driscoll family,
Sincere condolences on the loss of Mary. It has been a very difficult few months for all of you with John's passing in December and now Mary's. May our shared faith be an abiding consolation now and in times ahead when they will be especially missed. R.I.P.

Mary was such a beam of light and joy - she had so much energy it was great to be around.
I was her stylist and owned the salon she frequently visited over the last 13 years- she always had a chic short hairstyle so we really got to know each other! I saw Mary more often then most close people in my life so we really became close friends
We had so many heartfelt conversations and LOTS of laughter.
I am really going to really miss Mary we all will. She was such an inspiration to all of us at the salon.
Sending condolences to all of you
Rest in Peace Mary.

Mary was a force of nature and as dynamic as they come, so it´s difficult to grasp that she is no longer among us ( although I´m sure keeping a keen eye from above). With a keen intellect, unbeatable sense of fashion and most importantly, a huge and generous heart - she was there whenever when needed, especially for her beloved nieces and nephews, any friend at any time, her charities, her students and of course, her partner Mark. I will miss her terribly, as will so many. After all, there will never be another like Mary Driscoll.
